Mr. Brinson joined the board in 2003 having been involved with the formation of the Coastal Environmental Partnership and as a Pamlico County Commissioner. Doug served four terms as a commissioner after having served two terms on the Pamlico County Board of Education. After graduating from Atlantic Christian College with degrees in history and psychology, Doug taught at Sanderson High School in Raleigh. He then went on to become a special agent with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. After retiring from the SBI he returned to Pamlico County to take over the family farming operation in Arapahoe.
