Coastal Environmental Partnership NCSCOS Alignment Guide
Tours of the Tuscarora Landfill facility can be arranged for school groups. Tours begin with an educational presentation that can include, but is not limited to:
- Landfill construction
- Electricity from landfill gas/methane
- Leachate collection and treatment
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Compost and mulch
- Household hazardous waste
- Government authorities
Following the presentation, the tour will go out onsite and see first-hand how solid waste is managed and the steps taken to ensure the environment is protected.
